The Duchess Fund

The overall purpose of the Duchess Fund is to assemble and make available in one central place, an enhanced quantity, quality, and variety of data relative to the care, needs, and treatment of Potbelly and other miniature pet pigs. The contribution of your pet pigs medical records to the Duchess Fund Database enables us to fulfill the goals of the Duchess Fund, one of which is to provide easy access of not widely available information and documentation to both individuals and veterinary practitioners. Most veterinary personnel receive little or no formal training in the care of these wonderful companions making them reticent about taking them on as patients. We hope with the creation of this database we can encourage more veterinarians to expand their practices to include pet pigs. You will find a medical release form on the web site to print, copy, and sign authorizing your veterinarian to send us the records for our confidential, on-line medical database. Please seriously consider making your pet pigs' medical records part of that database.

Monetary donations to The Duchess Fund allow us to contribute financially to various medical and research projects which are aimed at increasing the base of information and documentation available regarding pet pigs. This, in turn, provides valuable information to the national database regarding the various maladies affecting miniature pigs as well as successful, and those not so successful treatment options. Checks should be made payable to Duchess Fund or you may pay by credit card on the web site. When you give to the Duchess Fund, you give to the welfare of pet pigs everywhere.
